SUJUNG – Training activities for Posyandu cadres and early childhood teachers is a strategy of PKPU and DRPM UI (Directorate for Research Service, University of Indonesia society) in the prevention of malnutrition among children under five in Sujung village (16/12).
This training was themed “Empowerment in Malnutritional Prevention Through Nutrition Education Implementation and Utilization of Existing Local Food in Sujung Village “. It was attended by local village chief, village midwives, chief executive of the nutritional health centers, 15 Posyandu cadres as well as seven early childhood teachers.
Speakers in the training were a team of doctors from the UI consisting of five physicians who presented the materials Regarding 1000 HPK, balanced nutrition, health and hygiene, disease and malnutrition in children.
The objective is to train and improve the skills of Posyandu cadres and early childhood teachers to provide education about the prevention of malnutrition in young children, knowing balanced nutrition and good parenting.
“This training is very helpful to improve the knowledge of the cadres on the prevention of malnutrition in Sujung village. I hope, parenting by mothers in this village will be better with this training and also I hope that the cadres and early childhood teachers do not get tired of continuing to provide education about nutrition so the children in Sujung village have to be smart, active, skilled and nutritious “said Mrs. Aan as posyandu cadre Anggur.
PKPU and DRPM UI hoped that the cadres and early childhood teachers can continue to educate the public about good parenting to the mothers and the selection of nutritious food and a healthy lifestyle, PKPU and DRPM UI also hoped that this training on mothers they would have knowledge about good nutrition and can apply them in everyday life.
